We respectfully acknowledge that our office, situated on the banks of the Credit River in Mississauga, rests on the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit. We honor this land as the ancestral home of the Anishinaabeg (pronounced ah-nish-naw-bek), Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee (hoodt-en-oh-show-nee), and Ojibway/Chippewa peoples; as well as the land that has long been home to the Métis (may-tee) and, most recently, the direct descendants of the Mississaugas of the Credit. With deep gratitude and humility, we recognize the enduring relationships these communities have with this place, and we commit ourselves to a journey of reconciliation, respect, and healing.
