Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy

Our psychedelic-assisted therapy sessions feature MDMA which has been approved for PTSD, and Psilocybin for treatment-resistant anxiety and end of life anxiety. Through a Special Access Permit granted by Health Canada, people struggling with certain significant mental health conditions such as end of life anxiety or PTSD can have access to Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy using MDMA or psilocybin. Using eyeshades, headphones with a curated playlist in the right set and setting, there’s an invitation to an inward exploration of the unconscious and subconscious with enhanced empathy and compassion.

Learn About Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy

What is Psychedelic-assisted Therapy (PaT) through Special Access?

Psychedelic-assisted Therapy (PaT) involves the use of psychedelic substances like psilocybin or MDMA in a therapeutic setting to support deep psychological healing. In Canada, these substances are not yet broadly available but can be accessed through Health Canada’s Special Access Program (SAP), which grants approval on a case-by-case basis for individuals with serious or treatment-resistant conditions, such as PTSD or depression.

Who is eligible for Psychedelic-assisted Therapy through SAP?

SAP approval is reserved for individuals with severe or life-threatening conditions when conventional treatments have been ineffective. A licensed healthcare provider must apply on behalf of the patient, demonstrating the potential benefit of psychedelic therapy in their case. Approval is not guaranteed and is granted at Health Canada’s discretion.

What happens in a psychedelic-assisted therapy session

After approval by Health Canada, there are preparation, orientation and intention-setting sessions conducted, which help to get you ready for the journey. In the medicine session, you will receive the psychedelic in a safe, controlled environment with professional support. With headphones on, a curated playlist, and eyeshades, you can turn inwards to explore your inner world. After the medicine session, integration sessions follow with an integration therapist to help you process insights and find ways to apply them to your daily life.
