Psychotherapy
Life is hard. We can feel stuck, alone or overwhelmed in our lives as a result of unprocessed trauma, difficulty with communication or an unhealthy relationship with our feelings or ourselves. Since we can’t work on what we’re unaware of, psychotherapy opens the door and allows us to explore what is inside. This is the path to choice and change.
The best positive outcomes in therapy are attached to the strength of the therapeutic relationship. Finding a therapist who is a good fit for you is an important first step in a journey of healing or personal growth. Therapy modalities, therapy style, languages spoken, virtual, in-person or hybrid, experience level and hourly rate are all factors to be considered – but the most important of all is how you feel across from the therapist when you have a consultation. All of our therapists offer a free consultation for this very reason.
Learn About Psychotherapy
How do I know if psychotherapy is right for me?
Psychotherapy can be beneficial for anyone experiencing emotional distress, relationship challenges, life transitions, or personal growth struggles. If you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unable to cope effectively, however that manifests in you, therapy can provide tools, support, and new perspectives to help you move forward.
How long does therapy take?
The length of therapy varies depending on your goals, concerns, and the type of therapy used. Some people see progress in just a few sessions, while others may benefit from ongoing support over months or years. Your therapist will work with you to understand your therapy goals.
What happens in a therapy session?
Each session is unique and tailored to your needs. Typically, we'll explore your feelings, thoughts, beliefs, memories and experiences in a safe, confidential space. Your therapist may ask questions, provide insights, and teach coping strategies. There are numerous therapy modalities and we will work together to find the best mode of support, step by step.
