I have spent over 20 years working in the field of addictions and mental health, and over time I’ve come to understand how often unresolved trauma sits at the core of what people are struggling with — whether through substance use, emotional pain, or patterns that feel hard to shift.
Because of this, I work from a deeply trauma-informed perspective and have extensive training in supporting individuals living with PTSD. My approach integrates a range of evidence-based modalities, including CBT, CPT for PTSD, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing. I’ve had the privilege of supporting both youth and adults navigating substance use, complex mental health challenges, trauma histories, and the emotional impact that comes with them.
Many of the people I work with identify as part of the LGBTQ and/or BIPOC communities. As a gay, Black, cis-gender man, I understand how identity, lived experience, and systemic factors shape mental and emotional wellbeing. I hold space for clients to explore these layers with safety, dignity, and care. I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, and I’m committed to offering support that is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in your lived experience.
